Spring and Autumn are beautiful times of transition. The air slowly changes, and with that comes new and exciting opportunities to mix up your wardrobe. However, if you're anything like me, you often end up feeling as if you only have clothes suitable for extremes of temperature.
For those in the Southern Hemisphere Spring may be just around the corner, but it’s not yet warm enough to shove your winter warmers to the back of the wardrobe. And for those North of the Equator, the darker mornings and chillier evenings may be stretching the use of your summer outfits.
Luckily there are a few items in every wardrobe - male or female - that you will find yourself coming back to again in again in those tricky in-between seasons. Here are four of our best tips for transeasonal dressing.
Vests come in two main styles; short and long. Short vests are fantastic closer to the summer months, and especially suit short or three quarter sleeve tops. Long vests, on the other hand, look best layered over a long sleeve blouse and flatter almost ever body type. Look for vertial panels or lines when shopping for a long vest, as these are particularly slimming. We designed our COCO long and short vest with exactly this in mind.
All of us have likely been wearing button-up crew-neck cardigans since we were children, and these will never go out of style. However introducing long-line or oversized cardis and dusters to your wardrobe give an instant cosy look to your outfit. Layer these over something more fitted, such as a skinny jean.

Layering is an ultimate necessity for Spring and Fall. Each season I like to look at my wardrobe basics and try to think of how I can style existing wardrobe pieces differently. Layer a tee under your favourite strappy summer dress, or experiment with your layering short sleeve sweaters with vests, cardigans and jackets. For the guys, try to experiment with texture. Play around with leather, knits, and velvet to add dimension and depth.

I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again - scarves are one of the easiest and most effective ways to add colour and to an outfit! If not colour, than look for interesting textures or knits to add dimension. Our unisex textured infinity scarf is made from four entirely different types of knits and will instantly elevate your look.
Last but not least, as the days grow even colder consider turning to the classic cashmere robe. This piece is ideal for those chilly mornings and evenings. You cannot get any comfier than this! Investing in a piece like a cashmere robe will only make you grateful for it whenever you wear it.
Every wardrobe is in need of a few truly transeasonal pieces. No matter where you are in the world, whether your days are growing longer or shorter it’s important to have some options for the changing climate.
