Founded by Caoimhe Ryan after a chance encounter with a master tailor in Shanghai, Nuan was born out of a desire to combine understated luxury with meaningful storytelling. From her early career on Wall Street to hosting charitable pop-ups in Hong Kong, Caoimhe’s path to fashion was unconventional, yet perfectly aligned with her philosophy: that fewer, better garments can shape not only wardrobes, but lives.

The Journey of Cashmere: Thoughtfully Made

Our designs are created from 100% pure cashmere yarns, sourced from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats living in the cold, rugged terrains of Inner Mongolia. The process begins with the careful combing of the goats during springtime when they naturally shed their winter coats. Unlike shearing, this method is gentle and ensures the wellbeing of the animals, while preserving the softness and quality of the fibres.

Once collected, the raw cashmere is sorted by hand—only the finest, longest fibres make it into a Nuan garment. This dedication to using only premium yarns is the first step in achieving the softness and longevity our customers love.
