  • Cashmere Care

All NUAN Cashmere products are made from the highest quality cashmere yarn available, and regular hand washing is the best way to keep them clean.

Here are some tips to help you maintain the beauty of your investment for many years to come!

    Hand Washing

Regular hand washing is the best way to clean our cashmere. Run lukewarm water in the sink and add the cleaner, being sure that it dissolves completely. Add the cashmere item, soak for five minutes, and then gently ‘squish’ to let the suds soak through the fibers.

Rinse in lukewarm water using the same ’squishing’ action (never wring cashmere) until the water is clear. (Note: fabric softener causes the fibers to stiffen.) Roll the garment in a towel and press to remove excess moisture, then lay flat to dry away from heat and sunlight. Re-shape while still damp, giving particular attention to the side seams and sleeves. When completely dry, press with a damp cloth and cool iron.

    Machine Washing

We do not recommend machine-washing your NUAN cashmere garment as machine temperatures and cycles vary greatly.

    Dry Cleaning

If you decide to dry clean your cashmere, especially our jackets and larger items, make sure that your dry cleaner does not use excessive amounts of chemicals.

    Storage

The storage of cashmere is one of the most important points after cleaning. When you are using your cashmere in season, just fold and put away in a drawer. When out of season, please make sure to clean before placing your cashmere in garment bags. We recommend the use of lavender storage balls to keep moths at bay.
