Revamping Your Closet
PART 2
Once you have gone through your closet using our tips from our ‘Decluttering Your Wardrobe Series One’ blog post, you can now find what you are missing and re-organise! My tips for this are simple:
1. Be Seasonal
If it is coming into the warmer months, pack away your heavy winter clothes. You will find it much easier to pick your summer outfit if you aren’t wading through scarves and coats!
2. Keep it Tidy
Keep clothes that are easily paired with different outfits towards the top of your drawers, or at eye level on your shelf depending on what type of closet you have. The same goes for your jeans, shorts etc. Keep those that are easily paired or often worn the most easily accessible.
3. Upgrade Your Closet Space
If your closet is looking tired or it doesn’t excite you, do it up! Decorate it with storage organisers, shoe racks, photos, or lighting. Use mirrors to instantly make a difference by making the space seem larger. Wicker baskets or holders will give it a warm look and you can fill them with whatever you like.
4. Love Your Clothes!
Last but not least, love your clothes. Clothes need to be treated well in order for them to last. Don’t hang your knits, fold them. Keep fabrics like cashmere in Sagitine aromatic pouches with cedar sticks to protect them from moths and hungry bugs. Ensure your longer pieces that are hanging aren’t touching the floor. Avoid stacking shoes on top of one another so they don't get damaged or dirty.
