With Every Stitch...Comes a Story

.

A wonderful trip back to the Ireland of my childhood took me to the Aran Islands and Inishmore (Inis Mor) this New Years Eve.

Travelling in winter gives me a chance to wrap up warm in cashmere and enjoy a break from Tropical Queensland.

To my great excitement apart from the lack of crowds and stunning scenery I learnt about the symbolism of knitting stitches in Irish Culture.

Close up of Honeycomb Stitch

1. Honeycomb Stitch

This stitch is a tribute to the bees & symbolises Hard Work and is thought to bring good luck to the Aran islands fishermen assuring them a good haul.

2. Honeycomb stitch styles at NUAN

Whilst the COCO Collection is the signature collection at NUAN this classic timeless jacket cardigan is a more economical option and is very much as elegant and tailored with its accents of fringing on hem lines and cuffs.

3. Other NUAN Honeycomb stitch styles

For a longer style the Trapeze Honeycomb cardigan is another option in our bespoke range.

4. Honeycomb stitch styles - bespoke

Don't forget that the above bespoke styles have the additional benefit of yarn choice too. If you would like a bespoke colour please just add your colour choice in your notes at check out and allow a few weeks for your custom colour jacket to arrive. My personal favourite at the moment is this soft blush pink that works all year round and in winter certainly softens the harder darker colours in our winter wardrobes.

4. Honeycomb stitch style Coat

This is a wonderful easy go to Coat.

It was a limited edition piece as part of our Cashmere with leather accent collection. Camel is a wonderful color to highlight the detail of this "busy bee" knit.
